The Seventh Space

Thanks to the generosity of the Barbour Foundation we are able to provide our next year long project. A monthly women’s circle named The Seventh Space. This is intended to be a safe, empowering space for women to gather, share and grow – free from judgement, full of possibility. A sanctuary, a quiet rebellion against isolation. We honour your story, your softness and your strength. Free to join, open to ALL women. #TheSeventhSpace #SharedStrength

Dame Margaret Barbour set up The Barbour Trust (now The Barbour Foundation) to support charities and good causes primarily in the North East of England. We are very grateful to receive £2000 to enable us to offer a space for women in the Washington area to gather to overcome isolation and loneliness leading to healing, strength and possibility.

The Seventh space starts in August – please like and follow our Facebook page to stay updated. Our current classes for this project and others can be booked here.
All sessions will be held in an accessible venue at Tempest Dance Studio Washington Columbia Washington with a trauma informed facilitator.

Project 3: starting August 2025

Blended Sound Healing, Yoga and Reiki

We are so excited to announce that we have received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme to deliver Blended Sound Healing, Yoga and Reiki for the people of Washington.

Our project is all about creating a safe space, physically and emotionally, where people can build relationships and community that lead to feeling supported and connected. Our weekly Sunday sessions will be delivered by a trauma-informed facilitator alongside volunteers with lived experience and are open to anyone facing emotional or physical challenges, including:

-People living with cancer and their families
-Those bereaved by suicide or experiencing complex grief
-People experiencing depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem
-Menopausal women
-Young LGBTQIA+ people and others struggling with identity, isolation or bullying
-Those caring for children with autism and people with additional needs

Sound Healing sessions will involve some participants in hammocks or on mats under weighted blankets with the healing vibrations of the gongs, frequency tubes, rain sticks, drums and more to regulate the nervous system and reduce anxiety. Yoga sessions will support mobility, core strength, emotional regulation and body awareness with individual Reiki healing to restore balance and connect Mind and Body.

At the heart of the programme is a commitment to reducing isolation, improving physical and mental wellbeing, and build self-worth.

We are extremely grateful to the players of The National Lottery and to The National Lottery Community Fund for helping to support this project. Follow our Facebook page and check out our website www.7dimensions.co.uk for further updates and details of how to book sessions. All sessions will be held in an accessible venue at Tempest Dance Studio Washington Columbia Washington

Project 4: starting September 2025

Children’s Aerial Yoga

A huge thank you to The Rothley Trust who have generously awarded us funding towards our new project: Children’s Aerial Yoga. These important sessions are for primary age children and young people aged up to 16 with disabilities, particularly those with autism and sensory needs. Aerial Yoga is ideal as it uses strong fabric hammocks suspended from the ceiling that let the body stretch, sway and relax in a way that’s calming and regulating. For children who struggle with movement or sensory overwhelm, the hammock gives both freedom and safety and they can just have fun as well as improve core strength and balance. Over time, the children open up, grow in confidence and take pride in what their body can do.

Our sessions are directed towards families that may feel that they need extra support. Parents are encouraged to assist their children in our sessions and to share the enjoyment, but also to chat in our seated area and share experiences with each other. You do not have to have an official diagnosis to take part in our sessions.

These sessions will be fully funded for 6-7 months. Donations are accepted from those who wish to pay, suggested donation is £5-£10 per session. All donations will go directly towards funding future Children’s Aerial Yoga sessions. Sessions will be available to book on our website soon www.7dimensions.co.uk . All sessions will be held in an accessible venue at Tempest Dance Studio Washington Columbia Washington
